Job description

About Academy of the Digital Industries

ADI was born out of a simple need: we couldn’t find enough professionals with the right digital skills, so we decided to train them ourselves.

What started in 2018 as a grassroots initiative in Tbilisi has evolved into a global Edtech platform with over 30,000 alumni.

Our programs are built by experts, designed around real world demands, and delivered in an environment of collaboration, curiosity, and growth.

In 2023, we partnered with Tether to take our mission global, expanding access to practical, career-boosting education for learners everywhere. Today, we’re building the next generation of digital professionals: marketers, designers, coders, and creators who don’t just want a job, they want to make an impact.

We’re guided by values we truly live by: putting people first, staying curious, doing excellent work, and taking ownership.

And we’re just getting started.

Role Overview

As Head of Technology, you will be responsible for ADI’s full technical vision and execution. You will design and lead our platform strategy, ensure stability and scalability, and translate business needs into smart, sustainable technical solutions.

This is not a “maintenance” role. We need a builder and strategist: someone who can both think long-term and roll up their sleeves in the present.

You will work closely with the Founders, General Manager, Sales, Marketing, and HR to ensure that technology truly enables growth, learning experience, and operational excellence.

Main Responsibilities

  • Define, prioritize, and lead the execution of the company's technology roadmap in alignment with business and markets needs.

  • Anticipate scalability needs as the company expands to new markets and adjust technical strategy accordingly.

  • Ensure all tech initiatives support business agility and are adaptable across different operational contexts (online/onsite, multilingual, market-specific models).

  • Oversee the stability, performance, and security of all digital systems, including learning tools, CRM, internal tools (e.g., Monday.com), website, and third-party integrations.

  • Act as the main technical liaison between teams, ensuring tech developments align with marketing, community, sales, and operations needs.

  • Translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.

  • Ensure adherence to international data protection standards (e.g., GDPR), especially as ADI operates in various jurisdictions.

  • Implement best practices in cybersecurity, infrastructure reliability, and user data safety.

  • Identify opportunities to automate processes and optimize internal workflows.

  • Evaluate and implement new tools or platforms to improve team productivity, communication, and decision-making.

  • Proactively detect, diagnose, and resolve system issues and tech bottlenecks in a timely and resourceful manner.

  • Actively support urgent requests and improvements.

  • Plan and oversee the future hiring or contracting of tech support roles as needed

Job requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in IT leading roles.

  • Excellent English communication skills.

  • Proven experience leading technology in fast-growing, startup environments where structure is still being built and priorities evolve quickly.

  • Strong ownership mindset: you don’t wait for perfect briefs or processes; you proactively identify problems, define solutions, and move things forward.

  • Experience working in multi-market, multi-language, and cross-functional setups. You’re comfortable designing systems that work across different countries, teams, and operational models.

  • Ability to operate in ambiguity and “organized chaos”.

  • Strategic thinking combined with hands-on execution.

  • Solid background in system architecture, integrations, and SaaS ecosystems (CRM, LMS, internal tools, websites, APIs).

  • Strong understanding of scalability and how to design systems that grow with the business.

  • Experience with data protection and security standards.

  • Highly proactive and solution-oriented: you anticipate issues before they become blockers.

  • Experience automating processes and improving internal workflows in lean organizations.

What do we offer?

  • Friendly working environment (We're dead serious!)

  • Work self-reliantly

  • Remote work

  • Unlimited access to our platform's courses (and discounts for family members)

  • Referral Program

  • Paid Time Off
